Delta: “No herdsmen, farmers clash in our state” – police

Press release

The attention of the Delta State Police Command has been drawn to recent publication in some national dailies suggesting that there are clashes between herdsmen and farmers in some communities in Delta State.

The Command wishes to state unequivocally that it is not aware of any herdsmen/farmers clash anywhere in the state.

The Command also notes that such unfounded reports are unprofessional, misleading and capable of causing a breakdown of law and order.

While calling on  journalists to always verify their stories from relevant authorities before rushing to press, the Command urges the public to disregard the reports as it will continue to do everything within its power and the law towards ensuring that peace and safety reign supreme in the state.

Police Public Relations Officer,

I love to have unfettered conversations about the media, religion, education, human rights, politics and everything in between. Aside creating web content, I also cherish causing the world some trouble as I, despite a looming global water crisis, drink three litres of the liquid on a daily basis thereby shortening the ration of the rest of humanity.
